PW Green sponsors educational training, Earth Day cleanups, nature walks, invasive species eradication and environmental scholarships.
In addition, PW Green partners with other environmental organizations on like minded projects.

Past and current projects sponsored by PW Green:
Placement of bluebird boxes in the Guggenheim Meadow. Five bluebird boxes were installed on April 6, 2004. These boxes are uniquely designed to attract bluebirds. Funds were secured from donations and the boxes were installed with cooperation from the School District. One of these boxes was sponsored by Brownie Troop #419.
Restoration and Maintenance Plan. PWGreen developed a plan for the proper maintenance of the Guggenheim Preserve meadow that encourages growth of native plant species. Components of the plan include a mowing schedule for the meadows, removal of construction dumping, and trail maintenance.
Developing Environmental Education Programs. PWGreen is currently supporting both individual teachers and the PW School District in developing enhanced environmental curriculum for Port Washington schools leveraging the Guggenheim Preserve property.
Earth Day PWGreen has participated in several cleanups over several years including the 36-acre Leeds Pond Preserve, the 7-acre Manorhaven "Preserve" property behind the Senior Center and the Stannards Brook Park. In 2013, PWGreen helped plant more than 250 trees at the Leeds Pond Preserve, helping replace many that were lost in Hurricane Sandy.
Children’s Library Program Nature as inspirations for creative writing and art. Summer program on birds and butterflies.
Wheatley School Collaboration with Port Washington school district on environmental education.
Hempstead Harbor Nature Sanctuary: Currently one of our board members, David Jakim, is conducting a study of the habitats now occupying the former Sand Pits on West Shore Road. The once denuded land from the sand mining operation has recovered amazingly well following the cessation of the mining operation in the mid 1980's, and native plants and animals are abounding!
